Hinduism through Rangoli Patterns and Rakhi bracelets

Event Details

Talk and demonstration by Bharti Tailor, sharing the philosophy behind rangoli patterns and their place in Hindu culture.  These attractive patterns are made with sand, and are designed for the moment and not for the long-term. Bharti Taylor, who has long experience of interfaith work, will be demonstrating how the patterns are made and it will be possible to try one yourself.

As you may also be aware, rakhi bracelets are made each year as gifts between a brother and a sister. There will be a drop in session to make one to take away.

The event takes place at the newly refurbished Hanuman Hindu Temple and Yoga Centre in Beech Avenue, Brentford TW8 8NQ between 1 and 4.  There is limited parking onsite or on surrounding streets. As the centre is a religious building, respectful clothing is requested.  It is a totally vegetarian environment.

Light refreshments at the start.
